Lots going on up to holiday season

Just because the Celtic Colours Music Festival has come to an end, it does not mean that there is nothing to do for those visitors staying longer in the area.

Richmond has a number of activities scheduled to take place during the fall and heading into the holiday season. Check out the activities listed below.

Dust off your dancing shoes and enjoy some of the dances scheduled during October. There will be two adult dances held at the Royal Canadian Legion St. Peter’s Branch 47, in Grand Anse, first on Sat. Oct 21 starting at 9 p.m. Music by Silver Wings and again on Saturday, Oct. 28, also at 9 p.m., with music by Rockin Country.

Also on October 28, there will be a Halloween dance, held at the Little Anse Samson’s Cove Social Action Centre, running from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. Music will be by Exit 46. Admission is $8 with costume and $10 without costume. Door prizes awarded for those in costume. You must be 19 years or older to attend.

On October 28 and 29, take in the L’Ardoise Fire Department Craft Fair at the L’Ardoise Community Centre running from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. each day.

Holiday activities kick off with the Annual Christmas Craft Fair at the St. Peter’s Lions Hall on Saturday, November 4 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Sunday, November 5, from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. For informatio­n please contact 902535-2051.

On November 18, enjoy the Richmond County Early Childhood 18th Christmas Holiday Bonanza at the D’Escousse Hall starting at 10 a.m. The day’s events will include a crafters market, meal, recorded entertainm­ent, silent auction, Santa with a gift for every child, bake table to run all day, followed by a Christmas merchandis­e bingo at 6 p.m.

The Men of the Deeps Christmas in the Mine concert will take place at the St. Peter’s Lions Hall on Sunday, November 19, starting at 2 p.m. Tickets are $20 and can be bought at the Cosy Corner Restaurant in St. Peter’s.

One of the highlights of the holiday season in St. Peter’s is the Festival of Trees, at the St. Peter’s Lions Hall on Saturday November 25 (9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m.) and on Sunday, November 26 (11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.) Visit http://www.visitstpet­ers.com/festival-of-trees/ for a list of events.

Set off your holiday season on Isle Madame by coming out to enjoy Noël Isle Madame, at LeNoir Landing, at the Arichat Waterfront on Sunday, December 3 from 1:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
