ROWE, Earl Nelson ‘Sandy’

-

It is with deep sadness that we, the family of “Sandy” Rowe, announce his sudden passing, at home, on Friday, November 3, 2017, at the age of 65.

Born in Sydney and raised in Whitney Pier, Sandy was the son of the late Edgar and Mary (Head) Rowe.

Until its closure, Sandy worked for Sydney Steel and was known to his co-workers as Tuddie. He loved to read, watch western movies and nascar and he loved his fur babies. What he enjoyed most was grabbing a Timmies and hitting the road with Cecelia. You never knew where they would end up. His favourite place was Lake O’ Law. Sandy loved his family, especially his nieces and nephews. He would do anything for them.

Sandy leaves behind the love of his life and caregiver of 23 years, Cecelia Christmas; sister, Kim (Mattie) Furlong, Sydney; brother, Leonard Rowe, Sydney; niece, Melissa (David) Green; nephew, Tyler (Ashley) Furlong; great-nephew, Matthew; greatnieces, Emma and Elsie. He also leaves behind a special young man who was like a son to him, Joe Mike Christmas. Sandy will be sadly missed by all who knew him.

A very special thank you to the VON, who were more than nurses, you were truly friends and also to Dr. Susan MacLeod for your excellent care.

There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held at Sydney Memorial Chapel on Monday 11 a.m., with Pastor Ron Coole officiating. Interment in Eastmount Cemetery, Whitney Pier.

Words of comfort can be sent to the family at www. sydneymemorialchapel.ca or email sydneymemorialchapel@ ns.sympatico.ca.
