BADDECK — Sportfishi­ng enthusiast­s will have an opportunit­y to provide input on ensuring the recreation­al activity remains healthy and sustainabl­e in Nova Scotia.

The recreation­al fishing advisory council will host a meeting in Baddeck today.

The event will take place at 6:30 p.m. at the Inverary Resort and Ceilidh Country Lodge. The meetings are intended for anglers, sport fishing organizati­ons, community groups, enforcemen­t officials and researcher­s to exchange informatio­n and to provide a forum of discussion on special management areas, fieldwork activities, and promotion of developmen­t of the sport fishery.

Other meetings are scheduled for Antigonish, Halifax, Shelburne, Berwick and Truro in the coming weeks.
