It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of our wonderful mother, Thelma Morgan, age 89 of Glace Bay. She passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at her residence. Born in Glace Bay, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Lila (Simmons) Kinslow.

Thelma was a homemaker all of her life. A compassion­ate lady; Thelma loved her family dearly and was always there for them throughout her lifetime. She enjoyed travelling; especially going to Florida and she also loved to shop. Thelma was a member of Bethel Pentecosta­l Family Church, Glace Bay.

She is survived by three sons, Bert (Joyce), Brian (Marlene) and Bucky (Irma) with whom she resided with the past 10 years, and her sister, Pheobe Boudreau.

Thelma is survived by her nine grandchild­ren, Tammy, Shawn, Andy, Jason, Sharla, Logan, Barry, Ryan and Mitchell, and ten great grandchild­ren, Ryan, Ashley, Morgan, Daniel, Natasha, Hunter, Raeven, Lucas, Madison and Danielle.

She was predecease­d by her husband, Charles Morgan, and eleven siblings, Albert, Harold, Ernest, Russell, Tom, Dolly, Kate, Etta, Nellie, Mae and Hazel.

We would like to give a special thank you to Dr. Trevor Guy and his nurse, Andrea, City Homemakers who were her special angels, VON Nurses, Nancy Kuta, Sherry Burke and Erin MacNeil, Care Coordinato­r, Physiother­apy & O.T., Amanda, Sherry and Breigh. And to all who helped to keep Mom’s wishes to stay at home until the end.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 9 from noon until the time of the funeral service at 1 p.m. followed by a reception, all in V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay. Pastor Ron Coole officiatin­g. Interment to follow in Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to CNIB or the Cancer Society.
