Elementary schools raise money for fund aiding cancer patients

BRAS D’OR, N.S. – Two local elementary schools hosted Walk for the Cure events last month in support of the Cape Breton Cancer Patient Care Fund

Bras d’Or Elementary School raised $3,879.10 in support of the cancer patient fund, while Boularderie Elementary School raised $1,550.90.

The event featured students participating in a walk around their schools and community with all money raised going to the cancer patient care fund.

Shelby Penny raised $650 for the event in honour of her grandfather.
