TRADESMEN, ISLANDERS WIN

-

The Cape Breton Unionized Tradesmen doubled the visiting Valley Wildcats 4-2 on Sunday in Membertou. While the visitors scored single tallies in the first and third periods, the Tradesmen (6-9-2-0) scored all four of their goals in the second stanza. Kinnon Williams scored twice, while Sam Gillis and Kenzie MacKinnon each tallied once for Cape Breton. Seth Crowe made 24 saves for the win. The Tradesmen’s Saturday game against the Valley was postponed until a later date. Meanwhile, the Cape Breton West Islanders (14-4-0-0) won again as they clipped the Weeks Major Midgets by a 6-2 score on Saturday at the Al MacInnis Arena in Port Hood. Calum MacPherson had a hat trick to pace the Isles.
