Trial date set for Cape Breton man in break and enter case

SYDNEY — One of four people charged in connection with a July break and enter in Sydney Mines has been assigned a trial date. David Angus Forrest, 35, of Caribou Marsh Road entered a not guilty plea Wednesday to a charge of break, enter and theft in connection with the July break-in at a residence. Three others, including Forrest’s brother, Michael, were charged in connection with the break-in.

The Forrest brothers continue to be on remand while two females charged have been released on conditions.

David Forrest is now to stand trial Jan. 4.

He is also to be sentenced Feb. 15 in connection with unrelated offences.

Forrest will be sentenced after entering guilty pleas Wednesday on eights counts of theft and four counts of breaching court orders.
