WALKER, Matthew Frank

-

It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Matthew, age 33, of Fort McMurray. Matthew passed away Friday, December 15, 2017.

Born in North Sydney on July 13, 1984, he was the beloved son of Paul and Anne (Burchell) Walker.

He attended school in Sydney Mines, and graduated from Memorial High School. After graduation he took a scaffolding course, and at the age of 18, moved to Fort McMurray. He worked hard, and put in many long hours. At the age of 20, he obtained his journeyman ticket. For the past five years, he was employed by Suncor, as a Heavy Equipment Operator.

As well as his parents, he is survived by the light of his life, his son, Owen; his loving brother and best friend, Paul William; his loving sister, Christy (James Landry), and his precious nieces, Khloe and Lyla. Also surviving are a number of aunts, uncles, cousins and many dear friends.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Jim and Miriam Burchell; his paternal grandparents, Frank and Marion Walker, and his loving uncle, Jimmy Burchell.

We will miss his love, hugs, and dry wit.

Cremation has taken place. A Celebration of Life Service will take place Friday, December 22, 2017 at the Fort City Church, in Thickwood, Fort McMurray at 3 p.m.
