MACPHERSON, Winston Cameron

Peacefully, with family by his side, Cameron passed away December 17, 2017 at the Southampto­n Care Centre, Southampto­n, ON at the age of 75 years.

Cameron is survived by his wife of 49 years, Mary Alma MacPherson (Wadden); sons, John (Pam) MacPherson of Waterloo, ON and Shawn (Alyssa) MacPherson of Port Elgin, ON; daughters, Tracey (Tom) Mombourque­tte of Langford, BC and Kim (Duane) Lewis of Phoenix, AZ; brother, Bill (Shirley) MacPherson of Olds, AB; two sisters, Margaret Faltenhine of Halifax, NS and Elizabeth (Don) Von Sprecken of Filmore, SK, and six grandchild­ren.

Cameron was predecease­d by parents, Neil Duncan MacPherson and Mary Eileen MacPherson (Oldford) of Glace Bay, Cape Breton; his sister, Sandra Faltenhine and her husband Alvin Faltenhine of Halifax, NS, and brother-inlaw, Orville Faltenhine of Halifax, NS.

His life revolved around hockey, spending many years as a coach and as a member of the Port Elgin Minor Hockey Associatio­n executive. Cameron was a proud Cape Bretoner, a former Seaboard Power Corporatio­n employee and enjoyed spending retirement summers in Port Morien.

Cremation has taken place. A celebratio­n of Cameron’s life will be held at a later date. The family wishes to thank the staff in the An Cala Palliative Care Unit at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital in Sydney, the staff at the VON and Home Care of Glace Bay, and all the family and friends for their overwhelmi­ng support.
