We, the family of Joseph T MacDonald (Teddy), regret to announce his passing on December 16, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Born in Neil’s Harbour, he was a son of Thelma (MacLeod) and the late Joseph MacDonald.

Ted served in the Canadian Armed Forces and was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 138 Ashby.

Teddy will be dearly missed by his loving partner, Debbie Barrington. Also left to mourn are his mother, Thelma MacLeod of Ingonish; his sister, Yvonne (Graham), Neil’s Harbour; brothers, Jeffrey (Brenda), Ingonish and Conrade (Nancy), Alberta; step-son, Todd (Michelle) Forbes, and two granddaugh­ters, Serena and Katlyn, Saskatchew­an; step-son, Darren Forbes, Saskatchew­an, and aunt, Lorraine Rideout, Ingonish. He will also be greatly missed by many nieces and nephews.

He was predecease­d by his wife, Sharon MacDonald; father, Joseph MacDonald and two infant brothers.

Cremation has taken place. A celebratio­n of Teddy’s life will take place Thursday at 2 p.m. in the S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home. Rev. Sheldon Chant officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
