It is with deep and heartfelt sadness we announce the sudden passing of our beloved daughter, sister, granddaughter, great-granddaughter, cousin and friend, Rebekah Brianne Morrison- Jessome, age 21, on Sunday, December 17, 2017 in Edmonton.
Born in North Sydney on April 27, 1996, Rebekah was the daughter of Sarah (Morrison) and step-father, Chris Jessome.
Rebekah graduated from Memorial High School in 2014 and was presently taking a Paralegal Course in Alberta. While living in Edmonton she was working at a restaurant waitressing. Rebekah loved spending time with her family, especially her brothers, sisters and cousins, hanging out with her friends and playing video games. She loved animals especially her new puppy, Boozie.
She will be deeply missed and always loved by her mother and step-father, Sarah and Chris Jessome, Long Island; her siblings, Ethan, Emma, Ava and Nolan Jessome; her maternal grandparents, Jim & Muriel Morrison, North Sydney; her great-grandmother, Florence Morrison, Sydney Mines; grandparents, Terry and Debbie Jessome, Long Island; her paternal grandparents, Ann & Raymond Cantwell, Boularderie; greatgrandmother, Muriel Jessome; her aunts and uncles Gordie & Gloria Jessome, Long Island, Nick & Michelle Jessome, Fort McMurray, Jason Morrison, North Sydney, Scott Cantwell and Raylene Cantwell; her special cousins, Makayla, Kaleb, Aiden, all of Long Island and Nathan, Fort McMurray.
She was predeceased by her biological father, David Cantwell in March of 2017; as well as her great-grandfather, Jim Morrison; great-grandparents, Irene and Fred Magee, Catherine and Connie Drake, Michael Jessome and Raymond Cantwell; also by her aunts, Catherine Ann and Danielle Michelle Jessome.
A private family visitation will be held in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney.
A funeral mass for Rebekah will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday at St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating.
