Big Bras d’Or Fire Hall generator project:

• The idea for the project came following the Thanksgiving Day storm in October 2016

• The Friends of Big Bras d’Or Fire Hall began project efforts in late October 2016

• The committee sent out a questionnaire to residents of the fire department’s coverage area, asking if they had a generator or if they would use a warming centre facility if it were offered

• The committee has since purchased the generator with other operating funds

• The generator was installed at the end of the summer

• The total project cost $12,000. Currently, the committee has just over $11,000 raised and are roughly $800 away from reaching their fundraising goal.
