COMPTON, Marguerite Theresa (LeBlanc)

- Sydney Mines

With overflowing love and tears in our hearts, we said goodbye to our loving mother Marguerite on Saturday, December 23, 2017 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney. Born on December 27, 1954 in Alder Point, she was the daughter of the late Raymond and Emma (Marsh) LeBlanc.

Marguerite was known to many as Marg. She loved her family, especially visits from her grandchildren. A good card game was something she always enjoyed when her boys would come home from away. She loved her computer just as much as she enjoyed music. When it was karaoke time, you wouldn’t dare ring her phone. She loved to sing along to every word and not be interrupted.

Her favorite place to eat was the A&K Lick a Chick for a snack pack, then to Lick a Treat for an ice cream with her sister Madonna. She enjoyed her drives to the beach, just to get out of the house. And she would never turn down a good feed of lobsters. We will miss you and love you always Mom!

Marg leaves behind to mourn, her children, John (Wanda), Donna (Sheldon), Wanda, Francis (Emily), Laura (Reg) and Raymond (Helen), and her grandchildren, Randy, Sydney, Dakota, Blayne, Austin, Paige, Olivia, Diana, Emma, Kassy and Breton. She is also survived by her sisters, Joyce (James) Paquet, Mary O’Toole and Lillian Forrest; brother, Cyril LeBlanc; brothers-in-law, John Thurbide and Albert Theriault, along with several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, Marg was predeceased by her sisters, Madonna Thurbide and Veronica Theriault; brothers, Joseph, Frank and William; brothersin-law, David O’Toole and John Forrest, and son-in-law, Wally Pendergast.

In keeping with Marg’s wishes, cremation has taken place, there will be no visitation. A Funeral Mass to celebrate Marg’s life will be held at St. Joseph’s Church, Bras d’Or on Friday December 29, at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Peter McLeod officiating.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Kidney Foundation or Charity of one’s choice.

Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www. jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
