CBRM man killed in Red Islands collision

RED ISLANDS — A 35-yearold resident of the Cape Breton Regional Municipali­ty was killed in a two-vehicle collision on Highway 4 in Red Islands on Wednesday. No other details about the victim were released by the RCMP on Thursday. The man was the lone occupant of a car that struck a tractor-trailer on the stretch of road in Richmond County at about 2 p.m. The driver of the tractortra­iler was not injured. RCMP was not commenting on the cause of the collision but did say that the road was snow-covered at the time. The crash remains under investigat­ion.
