LOCAL TEAMS SPLIT AT ICE JAM

The Bedford Ice Jam is continued on Thursday with the Cape Breton West Islanders defeating Newbridge Academy 8-5. The Islanders scored four goals in the first period, three in the second and one in the third. The Cape Breton Unionized Tradesmen fell 5-2 to the East Coast Blizzard. The Blizzard netted one in the first, three in the second and one in third, while the Tradesmen found the back of the net once in the first and another in the third period.
