DONOVAN, Geraldine ‘Geri’

It is with heartfelt sadness we announce the passing of Evelyn Geraldine ‘Geri’ Donovan, age 84, beloved mother, grandmothe­r and great-grandmothe­r, on Monday, January 15, 2018 at the Northside General Hospital. Born in North Sydney, on February 6, 1933, Geri was the daughter of the late Edward and Annabelle (Standing) Neil. She was an amazing card player, enjoyed knitting and loved animals. She especially loved visiting and spending time with family. She was a great supporter of the Salvation Army, working Christmas Kettles in varies communitie­s.

Geri is survived by her daughter, Lynn (Clancy) Pippy, Northside East Bay; grandsons, Glen (Chantal) Donovan, Edmonton, C.J. (Terry) Pippy, Nanaimo, BC, also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predecease­d by her first husband, Harold Hines, and second husband, Earl Donovan; her brother, Donald Hood; half-brother, Sonny Blagdon, and stepbrothe­r, Dan Neil.

A funeral service will be held for Geri on Saturday at 2 p.m. in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home Chapel, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with Majors Corey & Charlene Vincent officiatin­g.

Burial will take place at Point Aconi Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations may be made to the Salvation Army or a charity of choice.
