It is with heavy hearts that we, the family, announce the peaceful passing of both Jimmy and Gwen on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.

Forever the loving couple, fate chose for them to begin this new journey together.

Jimmy passed away at Garden City Manor, St. Catharines, Ontario.

Gwen passed away suddenly at their home in Thorold, Ontario.

Jimmy was the son of the late John and Hilda McIntyre of Bras d’Or. Gwen was the daughter of the late William and Viola Walsh of Sydney Mines.

They were loving parents of David, Tyler, Kevin, Shaun, Debbie (Gary), Lynn (Hugh), Bill (Marlou) and Cathy (Richard); grandparen­ts of Matthew, Kelly, Sherry, Kyle, Brandon, Chelsea and Thea, and great-grandparen­ts of Teegan, Mikeala and Carson. They will be lovingly remembered by Gwen’s sisters, Shirley and Cynthia; Jimmy’s sisters, Marguerite (Bill) McInnis, Mary Hall, Madonna Romeo and Phyllis (Vic) Erickson; sister-in-law, Brenda McIntyre; brothers, Tom (Marie), Gordon (Vennie) and Douglas (Liette), and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Gwen was predecease­d by her brother, David. Jimmy was predecease­d by his brothers, Terry and Jackie; brothers-in-law, Lewis Romeo and Cliff Hall, and nephews, Jason McIntyre, John Romeo and Brent Hall.

Jimmy and Gwen made many trips to Cape Breton with their motor home, spending time in the Cape Breton Highlands and at the Arm of Gold Campground in Bras d’Or.

A service was held on Sunday, January 14, 2018, at Hulse and English Funeral Home and Chapel in St. Catharines. The interment of their ashes will take place in Cape Breton at a later date.
