BRESKI, Anelia (Anella)

It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Anelia (Anella) Breski, 57, on January 22 at Cape Breton Regional Hospital Palliative Care Unit after a brief illness.

She was the daughter of Elizabeth (Clarke) Breski and the late Frank Breski.

Anella is survived by her mother, Betty (Elizabeth) Breski; brothers, David, John and Steven (Krista Thomas); sister, Joan (Ed) Burke; maternal uncle, Buddy (Gerlinda) Clarke; aunt, Beverly Breski; nieces and nephew, Alixandria (Thomas Dowson), Vincent Breski (Tara LeBlanc), Jennifer Burke (Jesse Arnold) and Jillian Burke (Ryle Matheson); great nieces, Rachel, Kayla Breski; great-great nephew, Thomas Shaw, and many cousins.

She was predecease­d by father, Frank; grandparen­ts, John Clarke and Mary Kennedy; aunt, Joan (Clarke) O’Toole; paternal grandparen­ts, Frank and Anelia Breski; aunt, Wanda Breski, and uncle, Zeke (Fran) Breski.

Anella was a graduate of St. FX University and cherished her beloved “X” ring. She worked for 22 years as a Senior Evaluator/ Advisor for MacTech Distance Education. She also had teaching assignment­s with CBRVSB, CB Mobile Learning Unit in Neil’s Harbour and Calgary School Board.

She loved to play street hockey with the boys in her teenage years. She enjoyed reading, movies, swimming and watching hockey games. Her favourite team was Boston Bruins and idol, Bobby Orr.

She enjoyed her trips to Florida with her mother to visit her uncle and aunt and their trips around Cape Breton. Iona was a favourite stop for her.

She will be dearly missed by many friends and coworkers. She loved her get togethers with the LOL’s.

At this time, we would like to thank the staff at emergency, ICU, 4B and Palliative Care for their care of Anella and the whole family.

Visitation for Anella will take place at T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel on Wednesday January 24, from 7-9 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Theresa’s Church on Thursday January 25 at 11a.m.
