It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Mother, Phyllis Audrey Aucoin, who passed away peacefully on January 22, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital (Pallative Care Unit) with her loving family by her side. Born on July 10, 1932 in Whitney Pier, Phyllis was the eldest daughter of the late Angus and Verlie Devereaux, of Mira Road, NS.

Phyllis’ joy in life was looking after her family, whom she loved dearly. She loved nothing better than sharing laughter and music at family gatherings, and playing bingo with her special friends.

Phyllis was predeceased by her husband of 65 years, William Aucoin; her sister, Marilyn, and her brother, Bill.

She is survived by her daughter, Wendy (Late Wayne); sons, Bill Aucoin (Glenda) and Curtis Aucoin (Wendy). She is also survived by her sister, Mitzie Fogarty (Late John), Kay Gallivan (Roy), Shirley Holland (Charlie), Susan Steele (Gordon); brother, Jerry Devereaux (Bev); eight grandchildren Jill, Melissa, Aimee, Justin, Jason, Josh, Kyle and Cory, as well as eight greatgrandchildren, Abigail, Jacob, Molly, Caden, Gabriel, Quinn, James and Adam, and many nieces and nephews.

Phyllis will be deeply missed by her family and dear friends of which she had many.

The family would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to the staff at the ICU and Palliative Care Units at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital as well as family doctor Liam Orrell.
