Marion Bridge Community Hall facts:

• The council meets the second Tuesday of every month. The annual general meeting will take place Sunday, March 25 at 7 p.m. All interested residents are encouraged to attend. “It will be a time for new ideas and perspectiv­es.”

• Features available on the council website include hall bookings (online or by phoning Debbie @902-727-3161), forms for donations and volunteeri­ng as well as the council vision statement and monthly newsletter.

• The community hall has been granted a permanent liquor license. This special premises license allows for mixed age events. No 19+ restrictio­ns anymore.

• The Marion Bridge sign on the south side of the bridge is missing. The council has contacted the department of transporta­tion who have agreed to replacing the sign.

• The event sign at the hall has been repaired with new LED lighting and a timer installed. In addition, new eave lighting has been installed, illuminati­ng the front of the building.

• In conjunctio­n with the Cape Breton Regional Municipali­ty “Taste of Winter” series, the community hall will host a senior’s social featuring the Ukulele Strummers, Monday, January 29, 1:30-3:30 p.m. There will be a light lunch and a game of bingo.

• A St. Patrick’s Day dance will also be held on Saturday, March 17 at the hall. More informatio­n will follow on the Marion Bridge events or Facebook pages.
