It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Robert MacIsaac, age 66. Robert passed away suddenly at his home, January 26, 2018. Born in Glace Bay January 6, 1952, he was the son of the late Duncan and Gladys (Warren) MacIsaac.

Robert was a longtime employee with Devco; he was hired at a young age and worked with Devco until its closure. In his spare time, he could be found in his garage working on cars and enjoying the visits from his friends and neighbours. Robert was also an avid biker and he loved taking his bike on long rides.

Robert is survived by his son, Robert (Barbara), Red Deer, Alberta; daughter, Kelly (Eddie) MacDonald, Glace Bay; sisters, Barbara (Robert) Taylor and Mary Lou MacDonald, both of Glace Bay; brothers, Leo (Marie), Glace Bay, Duncan (Goretti), Liverpool, NS and Michael (Joanne), Howie Centre; sister-in-law, Debbie MacIsaac, Glace Bay; step-grandsons, Jordan, Brandon and Chris; many nieces, nephews and great friends; especially Robert O’Neil, Joe Faraci, Eric and Keith Thompson, Keith Pynn and Billy Blackwood. Robert will also be sadly missed by all of his great neighbours.

Besides his parents, he was also predecease­d by a brother, Paul, and a niece, Laura MacIsaac.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held tomorrow, Tuesday, February 6, 2018, from 2 p.m. until the time of the funeral service at 4 p.m. followed by a reception, all in V.J. McGillivra­y Funeral Home, 16 Reserve St., Glace Bay.

Interment will be in St. Anne’s Cemetery at a later date.

Memorial donations in the memory of Robert may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Cape Breton Cancer Centre or the Glace Bay Food Bank.
