It is with heartfelt sadness that we regret to announce the peaceful passing of Gordon Willis Parsons, age 76, at home on Friday, February 9, 2018 after a long battle with cancer.

Gordon was born in North Sydney, December 24, 1941, he was the son of the late Clarence and Susanne (Mulley) Parsons. A native of North Sydney, Gordon lived and worked most of his life in Vancouver, and returned to Cape Breton in 2007 after retiring from a lengthy career with the Canada Revenue Agency. Gordon loved flowers, and taking long drives through the countrysid­e in his Sebring convertibl­e.

Gordon is survived by two sisters, Dorothy Ross (late Allister) of North Sydney and Doreen Rendell (late Ross) of Corner Brook; two brothers, Donald (Julie) Parsons, Dartmouth and William (Melissa) Parsons, North Sydney, and sisters-in-law, Rhoda Parsons, Middle River and Gloria Parsons, Halifax. Gordon is also survived by many nieces and nephews, and grand nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Gordon was predecease­d by his brothers, John Roy Parsons and James Parsons.

Visitation for Gordon will be held at 10 a.m., Wednesday February 14, 2018, followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m., in the W.J. Dooley Funeral Home, 107 Pleasant St., North Sydney with Rev John Hannem officiatin­g. Reception for family and friends to follow after the conclusion of the funeral service at Central Court, 65 Stanley St., North Sydney. A private internment will be held in the spring at Lakeside Cemetery, North Sydney.
