Celebrating Heritage Day in Baddeck

A number of events are planned for Heritage Day in the village.

Events begin on Sunday with a brunch from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at the Inverary Inn, followed by snow sculpture created around the area.

Other events will take place on Monday:

8-10 a.m., Breakfast, Royal Canadian Legion.

9-10 a.m., Rise and shine snow yoga with Karen Breen Welton, Baddeck VIC.

9:30 a.m., Blizzard fun run, 1.5 km or 3 km, Baddeck Community Centre.

10-10:15 a.m., Smudging ceremony with Marjorie Pierro, Baddeck VIC.

10 a.m.-1 p.m., Face painting, Victoria County Creates.

10 a.m.-12 p.m., Snowman jam, Alderwood Rest Home.

10 a.m., Ice fishing expedition with Harry Faulkner, Nyanza Bay.

10-11 a.m., Cardio classes with personal trainer Roni Davis, Inverary Resort.

10 a.m.-12 p.m., Pond hockey for all ages, Victoria Highland Civic Centre.

10 a.m., Guided snowshoe hike with Eileen Woodford, Baddeck Community Centre.

11 a.m.-12 p.m., Family curling, Baddeck Curling Club. Bring your clean sneakers.

11 a.m.-1 p.m., Crafts for kids, Baddeck Community Centre.

1-3 p.m., Family skating, Victoria Highland Civic Centre

1-4 p.m., Archery adventures with Bras d’Or Archers, Masonic Hall.

2 p.m., Virtual snowman scavenger hunt; team event, Baddeck Community Hall.

2 p.m., Camera tour with Simone Carmichael, Baddeck Community Centre.

2-3:30 p.m., Little snowflakes dance for kids 12 years old and under, Bras d’Or Yacht Club.

3-5 p.m., Family swim, Inverary Pool. 5-7 p.m., Cosmic coasting, Silver Dart Hill with free hot chocolate.

5:30-6:30 p.m., Kundalini yoga with Bev Bryson, Inverary Resort.

6:30-7:30 p.m., Campfire and S’mores, Baddeck Welcome Centre, sponsored by Inverary Resort.
