Ice covered timeline

• Rain began, off and on, throughout the day on Sunday

• Freezing rain started around 8 p.m., Sunday, and lasted for a period of four to five hours, causing roads to become slippery

• Gravel roads across Inverness and Victoria County were ice covered by the weather event, including an eight-kilometre stretch of the Meat Cove Road

• The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal says about two to three inches of ice formed on the Meat Cove Road

• One Sand truck was dispatched to the Meat Cove Road area around 6 a.m. on Monday to deal with the situation.

• The road was not officially closed; however, road conditions were dangerous at the time

•The Department of Transportation and Infrastructure Renewal says road conditions on Meat Cove Road steadily became better throughout the day as the icy melted

• For the most part, road conditions have returned to normal in the area
