GUSHUE, David

-

It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of David Gushue, 49, on February 11, 2018 at home.

David was born in Sydney where he spent most of his life. He was the son of Evelyn Dunn and the late David “Bruce” Gushue.

David worked as a carpenter, where he was self-employed until recent years when he began working for Jeff Ellis Enterprise. With David’s big heart he was always there to lend a hand and a hammer to whomever needed him. Other than his family, one of David’s passions was four-wheeling with friends and family. Through this passion, he gained many special friends with whom he shared many happy times and made unforgettable memories.

Besides his mother, David is survived by Cathie, his loving wife of 31 years; his children, Matthew (Brianna), Natasha (Shawn), and Justin (Dale). He also leaves behind “Papa’s girls”, Taylor and Chloe; as well as, his sisters, Corinnea Sampson, Lisa Biron (Alan); and a brother, Jamie Dunn (Christine). He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents, Arthur and Emily Dunn.

Cremation has already taken place.

Visitation will take place on Friday, February 16, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. at S.W. Chant and Son Funeral Home, 564 Alexandra St., Sydney.

Celebration of life to follow in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Sheldon Chant to officiate. Reception to follow.
