Elizabeth Marina McCarron passed away in Dartmouth on February 15, 2018. Born on February 6, 1929 in Reserve Mines, Nova Scotia she was the child of David Rennie and Elizabeth (Boutilier) Rennie.

Elizabeth’s work at the Royal Bank in Sydney and later Halifax, Nova Scotia was followed by work in Los Angeles, California. She left California to go to Greenland, where she met her husband John. They shared life together for over 50 years and raised six children.

Elizabeth’s retirement years featured travel with family and longstandi­ng friends to places around the world.

Elizabeth was predecease­d by her brothers, David, George, Augustine and Joseph Rennie; and by her sister, Agnes McPhee. She was also predecease­d by her husband, John.

She is survived by her sons, David (Mary) and Stephen; her daughters, Anita Pentz (Bob), Anne, Valerie and Marina; her grandchild­ren, Brian Pentz (Melissa), Heidi Pentz-Blair (Matt), Sean and Michael McCarron and Jeffrey Mosher. Elizabeth was blessed by great granddaugh­ter, Hallie Elizabeth Blair.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and by her life-long travel companions, Sybil Crawford and Marg MacDougall. Elizabeth also felt blessed to have made new friends while living at Inverness Hall in Dartmouth.

Elizabeth’s life was characteri­zed by giving, not only to her family but to less fortunate children around the world.
