It is with heavy hearts that we the family announce the passing of Florence Lockman, age 72, at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney.

Born in New Waterford she was the daughter of the late Chester and Florence MacLeod.

Florence is survived by her husband of 25 years, Sylvester Lockman; her four sons, Adrian MacLeod (Jeannette), ON, Chester MacLeod, Sydney, Keith (Kim) MacLeod, ON, James (Amanda) MacLeod, ON; three daughters, Viola (Paul)Scola, Melissa MacLeod (Shane), both of Ontario, Paula MacLeod, Sydney; 11 grandchild­ren, six greatgrand­children; sisters, Dorothy (Clyde) Moores, ON, Lucy MacIsaac, Glace Bay; brother, Alex (Rose) MacLeod, Winnipeg; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents, she was predecease­d by her husband, Adrian MacLeod (1976).

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held 9 – 11 a.m. on Friday, February 23, 2018 with a memorial service to follow at 11 a.m. with Fr. Daniel Boudreau officiatin­g at T. J. Tracey Cremation and Burial Specialist­s, 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199. Reception to follow.
