GLACE BAY —An Internatio­nal Women’s Day fundraiser luncheon is being organized by the Glace Bay revitaliza­tion group bay it forward. The event will take place at Talo Cafébar on Commercial Street, Glace Bay, on Thursday, March 8 at 12 p.m.

There will be guest speakers, prizes and lunch. Tickets are $30 and must be purchased in advance.

Cake hop set for March 12

DOMINION — The Row Street Club in Bridgeport will hold a March Break Cake Hop on Monday, March 12 from 5-7 p.m.

Tickets will be sold for $1 each. Canteen services will be available. Music will be by DJ. Children under the age of eight must be accompanie­d by an adult.

Reds hold informatio­n session

NEW WATERFORD — The Cape Breton Reds under 21 baseball team is hosting an informatio­n session for players, parents, volunteers and potential sponsors on Tuesday, March 20.

The meeting will take place at 8 p.m. in the Gillis/Watts Room at the New Waterford and District Community Centre on Victoria Avenue. The team is open to players ages 18 to 21.

Meals on wheels available

GLACE BAY — Town House has openings in its meals on wheels program on Wednesdays and Thursdays.

The program is available to people having difficulty preparing meals for themselves because of age, disability or illness.

The cost is $6 per meal and the menu includes meat or fish with potatoes or rice, vegetables, a roll, and dessert. The menu varies from month to month.

Irish stew for supper

DOMINION — An Irish stew supper will be held at Immaculate Conception Church in Bridgeport on Sunday, March 11.

The meal will be available for takeout from 12-2 p.m. and eat-in from 3-5 p.m. Admission will be $15. Music will be provided by The Four Corners. Money raised will go towards church maintenanc­e.

Tickets can be purchased by calling Eugene McMahon at 902-849-2256 or at Breezeway Convenienc­e Store. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

Town House hosts raffle

GLACE BAY — Town House is holding a St. Patrick’s Day lottery basket raffle.

Tickets can be purchased at Town House or through e-transfer. The draw will take place on March 16. Proceeds from this fundraiser go toward Town House’s summer breakfast program.
