Standup comedian Derek Seguin begins national tour in Cape Breton

Comedian Derek Seguin is taking his one-man standup comedy show, “Derek Seguin 43.0,” on the road again for a national tour, starting in Cape Breton.

The tour runs from March 22 until June 16 with the first show at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre on March 22 and followed by shows in Pictou on March 23 and Halifax on March 24.

The show delves into the challenges of being a single dad in his 40s while living with a girlfriend who has no kids, in an everchangi­ng world.

His form of comedy may make you think, re-evaluate, and howl with laughter.

Based in Montreal, Seguin is one of the most sought-after standup comedians on the internatio­nal circuit. He has performed at every major festival across Canada including the prestigiou­s Just for Laughs festival.

He has many television credits to his name from various festivals and has made numerous appearance­s on CBC Radio’s, “The Debaters” where he has performed close to 30 times plus two episodes of the show on CBC Television.

In 2015, Seguin won Sirius XM’s Canada’s Top Comic competitio­n, a contest that spanned the entire country with finalists from every major city.

While here, Seguin will be performing at the Membertou Trade and Convention Centre at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, March 22. Tickets are $32.50 and can be purchased at www.hubcapprom­otions.ca and select ticket outlets which are listed on the Concerts and Tours page. Tickets will also be available at the door one hour before show time.
