It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of John Gregory Ross, 64, on Monday, March 5, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital with his loving wife and family by his side.

Born in Florence, he was the son of the late Cecil and Agnes (Hancock) Ross.

John worked on the Railroad in Cape Breton for 42 years with CNR and Railtex. He was also an avid salmon fisherman, enjoying fishing on the Margaree River. He had a passion for gardening which gave him great pleasure and as a hobby, was a classic oak furniture maker.

He is survived by his loving wife, Pauline (Peddle); sons, Gregory (Melissa), Millville, Graham (Kim), Halifax and Glenn (Marley), Sydney; five grandchild­ren Keiran, Brennan, Maddox, Ben and Charlie; sisters, Catherine Dib, Moncton and Karen Bagnell, Bedford, and brothers, Cecil, Kingston, ON, Donald, Sydney Mines, Paul, North Sydney, Stephen, Halifax and Chris, Moncton.

He was predecease­d by sisters, Sheila Burchell, Little Karen Ross, Virginia Jesty, and brother, Ronald.

Please join the family for the Funeral Mass being celebrated on Friday, March 9 at 11 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Church, North East Margaree with Fr. MacDonald officiatin­g. A luncheon will follow the Mass.
