Wilfred Anthony 98, Lower L’Ardoise, passed away March 9, 2018 at the St. Anne’s Community and Nursing Care Centre, Arichat. Born in Lower L’Ardoise, he was a son of the late Benjamin and Virginia Barrett.

Wilfred was a man of great faith; he was a devoted member of Holy Guardian Angels Parish. He was a lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 47 and was a proud and decorated Veteran of the Second World War. He enjoyed wood working and donated many of his projects to the annual Acadian Days Festival; Wilfred enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing and anything involving the outdoors.

He is survived by his son, Jerome (Linda), Halifax; grandchild­ren, Mark (Carolyn), Lisa(Darren); great-grandchild­ren, Adam, Elicia, Jennifer, and Rachel; great-great-grandchild­ren, Cohen, Brooklyn and Trent; sister, Mrs. Theresa Mombourque­tte, Richmond Villa.

Wilfred was predecease­d by his wife, the former Irene Sampson; brothers, Bert, Georgie, Richard and Joseph; sisters, Lena and Mary.

Resting in Holy Guardian Angels Visitation Parlor on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral Mass will be offered Tuesday at 11 a.m. from Holy Guardian Angels Roman Catholic Church with Rev. Antolin Asor presiding; burial at a later date in the Parish Cemetery.

Memorial donations may be made to St. Anne’s Community and Nursing Care Centre, Arichat.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are under the direction of Green’s Funeral Home, Port Hawkesbury.
