Brenda Marie 64, Collingwoo­d passed away peacefully Monday, March 19, 2018, at home with her family by her side.

Brenda was a daughter of the late Hugh Francis and Erva B. (Cooling) McNeil. Brenda was born and raised in Glace Bay, and though not an easy childhood, graduated grade 12 and went on to achieve a certified nursing assistant diploma. She worked in nursing and various other fields for over 40 years until her illness. She valued her family, especially time spent with her husband, Keith and her son, Brendon. Among her many interests was her love for animals, cooking, gardening, and nature.

Brenda is survived by husband, Keith; son, Brendon King; step-children, Jason King, Tracey Craig, and grandchild­ren, Carter King, MacKenzie Rae Craig, all of Fredericto­n, NB; brother, Kevin McNeil, Glace Bay; sisters, Carol Ann Fraser, Shelburne; Erva Oldford, Glace Bay; nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by her brother, Hugh McNeil.

There will be a celebratio­n of Brenda’s life from 1-4 p.m. with a time of sharing and remembranc­e to follow at 4 p.m., Saturday, March 24, in MacDiarmid’s Funeral Home & Crematoriu­m, 5075 Main Street, Oxford (902447-2930), all are welcomed.

Donations may be made in Brenda’s memory to the ALS Society of New Brunswick Nova Scotia in lieu of flowers.
