WINTERMEYER, Beverly C.

-

Bev (nee Billard) was born in Glace Bay (Cape Breton) Nova Scotia by Ernest and Freda Billard (nee Payne).

Dearly departed siblings, Gord, Art, Charles, Donnie, Stena and Joan, and survived by Dorothy, Eileen, Raymond, Jack and Gerald. She had a strong community and her tight knit family were trendsetters of their time and the hub of the Cape Breton community.

Survived by her son, David Lawrence and daughter, Heather.

She moved with Lawrence to Ottawa on her own at the age of 27. She found gainful employment with a Government job and spent time with the family that had also moved to the Ottawa area. In 1977, she married Gerald “Jerry” Wintermeyer (Dec. 2015) while expecting her second son Darryl (Dec. 2017). A year later, her daughter Heather was born. Bev’s biggest joy was a love of her three grandchildren. Since her 75th birthday, she was experiencing increasing complications from Alzheimer’s. She developed a brief spell of pneumonia and was taken to the General Hospital before passing peacefully. She was surrounded by her Unity Community with her daughter Heather by her side. Bev will be sorely missed, and remembered for her love and dedication to those she loved, her kind nature, generous spirit and infectious laugh. May you be dancing in the sunlight, free from dementia and pain, surrounded by love and light, and reunited with those who have passed.

Until we meet again…. A Celebration of Life will be occurring in Cape Breton in July, details to follow. Contact heatwin1@gmail.com for more info.
