We, the family of the late Cathy Gillis of Lexington, Strait area, Inverness County, would like to express our sincere thanks to relatives and friends who supported us during our recent loss. Thank you to Haverstock Funeral Home for their profession­alism and kindness at this difficult time. Thank you to everyone who visited, and / or sent food, flowers, Mass and Memorial donations. Your presence and kind words were a great comfort to us. Thank you to all who travelled across Nova Scotia, Ontario and New Hampshire to be with us. Thank you to the many, many friends who phoned or forwarded messages via the funeral home to express their sympathy but were unable to attend due to driving conditions. A heartfelt thanks to the family who kept our driveway open during this difficult time. Thank you to our Parish Priest, Father Conrad Edwards, who celebrated the Mass and also Deacon Berkley, for the intentions. Thank you to Pallbearer­s: Carrie Donovan, Agnes Kennedy, Nancy MacLean, Marie Moran, Alexia Perdikes and Bill Richard. Thank you to St. Joseph’s Choir and organist, Al Fougere, who sang and played Cathy’s favourite hymns; readers, Lisa Currie and Susan Gillis; gift bearers, Rhianna Gillis and Danielle Perdikes; and also, the Knights of Columbus who participat­ed in the service at both the funeral home and Mass.

We would also like to send a special thank you to Father Conrad Edwards for his insightful tribute to Cathy. It touched the hearts of all those present at both the funeral home and Mass. Thank you to the St. Joseph’s CWL who provided the luncheon which followed the Mass. We would like to express our sincere appreciati­on for the compassion­ate care given to Cathy by the Palliative Care Team of Dr. Phillip Cooper and Nancy Cameron, and also the Home Support and Continuing Care Teams which made Cathy’s passing at home with family possible.
