Health boards seeking opinions
Residents in Inverness, Victoria counties asked to fill out surveys
Community health boards in Inverness and Victoria counties are asking the general public to share their thoughts on issues and challenges that affect the health of their communities.
The health boards are asking residents to complete a short survey as part of community planning.
Information gathered from the surveys will be used to better understand local priorities and supports people and communities need to improve health. The information will then be used to create a community health plan in the area.
The survey asks questions related to what people think contributes to a community’s health. They will also ask for information regarding age and heath conditions to get a better understanding of the area’s health and demographics.
No personal information, like name or address, will be required when completing the surveys, and the information will only be used to inform the health planning process.
The surveys will be spread widely through communities and in some areas will be mailed directly to residents.
Survey drop off boxes will be available in the Victoria County area at MacRae’s Garage, Royal Canadian Legion, Baddeck, Baddeck Vet Clinic, Baddeck Credit Union, Stones Drug Store, Baddeck Co-op, Victoria County Memorial Hospital, Victoria County Courthouse, St. Ann’s United Church, Barrachois, St. Andrews Presbyterian Church, North River, Wreck Cove General Store and the Englishtown Post Office.
The surveys will also be available online by visiting www.engage4heath.ca/community-health-planningbegins-in-invernes-and-victoria-counties.
