MCINTOSH, Henry ‘Hawk’ Archibald

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our father and grandfathe­r, Henry McIntosh, 70, on April 2, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Born in New Waterford, he was the son of the late Terrance and Marguerite (Hennessy) McIntosh.

He had a passion for horses, having at one time worked at Woodbine Race Track as a stable hand, as well as helping his friends who had race horses here. He also worked in the local mines.

He is survived by sons, Jason (Jennifer), Allan (Glenis), Avery and Blair (Rosie); daughters, Tara (John), Charlotte (George) and Lana (David); sisters, Elizabeth, Anna (Carl) and Carol (Joe); brothers, Francis (Susan), Charlie (Sharon), Joseph and Russell; 13 grandchild­ren and 14 great-grandchild­ren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, he is also predecease­d by his wife, Florence; sisters, Carmel, Donna; brother, Junior, and grandparen­ts.

Cremation has taken place and a chapel service will be held Saturday, April 7, 2018 at 11 a.m. with Deacon Leo Penny officiatin­g. Burial in Union Grove Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the Army, Navy & Airforce, Smith Street, and all are welcome.
