BADSTUEBNE­R, Jane Constance ‘Connie’

Jane Constance ‘Connie’ Badstuebne­r, age 78, passed away peacefully at the Baddeck Hospital on April 6, 2018 after a short illness. Born in New Waterford, she was the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Cameron) Boudreau.

Connie spent most of her adult life in New York where she raised two wonderful sons and carried on a career as a seamstress extraordin­aire. She also had a passion for arts and crafts, stained glass, and oil painting.

In 2005, she returned to her beloved Cape Breton where she retired to be with family in Baddeck and start a new chapter in her life. Her new email address contained the letters ADIP, which stood for ‘Another Day in Paradise’, which we now know is even more appropriat­e for Connie.

She is survived by her sons, Arthur (Ginny) Badstuebne­r and Michael (Cheryl) Badstuebne­r of New York; a brother, Damien (Sharon) Boudreau, White’s Lake, and sisters, Verne (Ronald) McIntyre, Baddeck, Jean (Blair) Brown, Howie’s Centre and Gail Boudreau, Baddeck. She also leaves behind many nieces and nephews, step-grandchild­ren and greatgrand­children, extended family and friends.

She will be missed by the many feathered friends she had in Baddeck Inlet. She was a true provider to them.

A gathering will be held at MacAskill’s Funeral Home in Baddeck from 5-7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 11. Burial will take place in the Mount Carmel Cemetery at a later date.

Donations may be made in Connie’s memory to the SPCA or Cancer Research.Henni and Greta were married 63 years, he devoted his last years to caring for her with compassion.

A very special thanks to EHS and ICU staff for their amazing care and kindness to Henni and his family.

Cremation has taken place and at the request of family there will be no visitation.
