GAIGNEUR, Marcel Albert ‘Bessie’

It is with broken hearts that we, the family, announce the passing of Marcel ‘Bessie’ Gaigneur on Friday, April 6, 2018 at the Cape Breton Regional Hospital, Sydney surrounded by his loving family.

Born in Reserve Mines, he was the son of the late Alexander and Adele Gaigneur.

He was employed with DEVCO as a miner for many years. Bessie enjoyed tinkering around the yard, going fishing and hunting. After his retirement, he could be found in the woods with his tractor and wagon cutting wood. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Marcel is survived by his loving wife, Diane (Popwell) Gaigneur; his sons, Kenny ‘Boo’ (Melinda) Gaigneur, Pete (Debbie) Gaigneur, both of Glace Bay; his two wonderful grandsons, Robert and Christophe­r; many nieces, nephews and cousins, as well as his four-legged companion, Daisy.

Besides his parents, he was predecease­d by his son, David Gaigneur, and his several siblings.

Cremation has taken place. Visitation will be held Wednesday, April 11, 2018 from 12-2 p.m. with a service to follow at 2 p.m. with Father Daniel Boudreau officiatin­g at T.J. Tracey Cremation & Burial Specialist­s 370 Reserve St., Glace Bay, NS 902-849-4199.
