Other places to stay when travelling for medical treatments

People from across the maritime provinces have to travel to Halifax for medical treatments for different reasons. While some accommodat­ions are specifical­ly for cancer patients, like The Lodge That Gives, there are some that aren’t and some that are particular­ly good for people needing wheelchair accessibil­ity.

Here is a list of some of these accommodat­ions:

The Point Pleasant Lodge: Privately owned and operated, this not-for-profit hotel has 100 room for anyone traveling to Halifax for medical appointmen­ts, including dental and ophthalmol­ogy (eye-related diseases).

Meals: Includes breakfast, tea and light snack available at bedtime.

Bonus: Home-like atmosphere.

Chateau Bedford: For people needing wheelchair accessible rooms, this hotel has a couple, however early booking might be needed due to the high demand.
