Sydney man facing host of charges including attempted murder
A Sydney man facing a host of offences including attempted murder is to return to court later this month for a sentencing hearing and possible bail hearing.
Aaron Curtis Mickey, 38, of MacDonald Crescent was to be sentenced Friday on charges of uttering a threat, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaching a court order. However, the sentencing hearing was adjourned until April
19.
Mickey is also facing additional charges of intimidation of a justice system participant, uttering a threat to a justice system participant and breaching a court order by having contact with an individual with whom he was prohibited from having contact.
The offences are alleged to have occurred March
9.
A bail hearing on those charges is also set for April
19.
Meanwhile, Mickey is to stand trial in June on charges that include two counts of attempted murder, four counts of aggravated assault, three counts of assault with a weapon (a knife), three counts of breaching court orders, two counts of uttering threats and single counts of break and enter, wearing a mask in committing an offence, careless use of a firearm (a .22-calibre rifle) and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.
The charges were filed in connection with a shooting incident last Dec. 23 in Sydney.
The accused continues to be on remand pending the outcome of his bail hearing.
