We regret to announce the passing of George (Buddy) LeBlanc, 78, formerly of Point Aconi, on Sunday, April 8, 2018, at the Northside General Hospital.

Buddy was the son of the late Leander and Elizabeth LeBlanc.

Buddy was a self-employed fisherman, then he worked for Clearwater Fisheries for many years until his retirement. He enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage and tarabish.

Buddy is survived by the love of his life, Elizabeth (Betty) Turner; stepson, Jason; stepgrands­on, Avery; sister, Patricia (Patsy) Warren; brothers, Forbie (Gwenn), Eddie (Bernadette); sister-in-law, Anna LeBlanc; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his parents, Buddy was predecease­d by his brothers, Alvin, David and his wife Anne; sister, Lois (Sis), and her husband Nick Howell; and his brother-in-law, Phil Warren.

Visitation for George (Buddy) LeBlanc will take place Wednesday, April 11, 2018, from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. in J. M. Jobes Funeral Home, Main St., Sydney Mines.

A celebratio­n of his life will be held Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph Church, Bras d’Or, with Fr. Peter McLeod officiatin­g.

There will be a reception in the church hall after the service.
