DEVEAUX, Richard ‘Rikki’ Terrance

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Richard ‘Rikki’ Deveaux on Saturday, April 7, 2018, at home.

Born in Sydney on September 7, 1980 Rikki was the son of Terry and the late Debra (Fernandes) Deveaux. Family was everything to Rikki. He adored spending time with his kids and riding his four-wheeler with his son. He enjoyed playing softball and was an avid Toronto Maple Leafs fan. He loved going for a ride on his street bike. Rikki was an amazing father, son and friend and he will be forever loved and missed.

He worked for the Cape Breton Victoria Regional School Board as a communicat­ion technician.

Rikki is survived by the love of his life, Melissa; his dear children, Jamie, Ella, Katie and Anthony; sisters, Natalie (Charles), Terrilynn (Kenzie) and Kelsey (Dyllan); nephew, Cohen; nieces, Madilyn and Avery; as well as several aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends.

Besides his mother Rikki was predecease­d by his grandparen­ts.

Visitation for the late Richard ‘Rikki’ Deveaux will be held at the Pier Community Funeral Home, Whitney Pier, 1092 Victoria Rd. (entrance on Church Street) on Thursday, April 12, 2018 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

Funeral mass will be celebrated Friday, April 13, 2018, at 10 a.m. in Holy Redeemer Church with Fr. Alex MacLellan officiatin­g.

In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Rikki may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Cape Breton.

Funeral arrangemen­ts are entrusted to the care and direction of Pier Community Funeral Home.
