NICHOLSON, Wendy (Robertson)

-

It is with the deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Wendy (Robertson) Nicholson on April 23, 2018 surrounded by her adoring family.

Wendy was born on November 5, 1959 and raised by her loving parents, Frances (Fanny) and James (Jick) Robertson and their extended family in Florence, Cape Breton.

Wendy and Dale (Fonthill, Ontario) began their lifelong love affair in 1976 and together raised four wonderful children, Leeann (Roy, Stoney Creek, Ontario), Chris (Libby, Columbus, Ohio), Tara (Paul, Welland, Ontario) and Erinn (Halifax, Nova Scotia).

Wendy’s greatest love came with the arrival of her cherished grandchildren, Samuel and Kaia (Leeann) and most recently, Kaden (Erinn).

Wendy enjoyed a very special relationship with Donna and Eddie MacDonald of Florence (Eddie predeceased); nephews, Kevin MacDonald (Sharon) and Jason MacDonald; nieces, Laurie Davis (Buddy) and Tracey Bonnar; as well as brother, Jimmy (predeceased) and sister-in-law, Margaret. Wendy is survived by many more nieces and nephews.

Wendy was a strong and uncompromising mother, accepting and providing only the very best of everything for her family. As Wendy and Dale followed new opportunities for their family in Nova Scotia, Newfoundland and Ontario, Wendy provided a warm, comfortable and impeccably decorated home in which family and friends were always welcomed with love. She is terribly missed.

The family would like to thank the professional workers of the emergency ward of Welland County hospital, especially Christina Brownlow and Jordan Martin for their kindness.

Donations may be made to a children’s charity of your choice.

A gathering to remember Wendy will be held at the J.M. Jobes Funeral Home, 635 Main St., Sydney Mines, Cape Breton from 2-4 p.m. on Saturday, April 28, 2018.

Words of comfort may be forwarded to the family at www. jmjobesfuneralhome.com.
