Ready for Port Days

The Port of Sydney will be hosting its annual Port Days on May 23-24 that begin with a reception at the Joan Harriss Cruise Pavilion on the opening night.

Port Days welcome industry stakeholde­rs from across the Atlantic region and the country to listen to presentati­ons and take part in question and answer sessions on various aspects of port developmen­t in Sydney harbour.

All presentati­ons and speeches will take place at the cruise pavilion on the Sydney waterfront. The highlights on May 24 include:

• 9 a.m. Address from Port of Sydney Developmen­t Corp. CEO Marlene Usher

• 9:20 a.m. Presentati­on by Offshore Technology Services general manager Matthew Denney

• 9:45 a.m. Novaporte update with Ports America

• 10:45 a.m. Second cruise ship berth progress report with CBCL Ltd. manager Richard Morykot

• 11:10 a.m. Marine Atlantic CEO Paul Griffin

• 11:30 a.m. One Ocean Expedition managing director Andrew Prossin

• 11:50 a.m. Sydney waterfront project update with Jim Wooder of JBW Consulting Inc.

• 12:15 p.m. Pre-luncheon reception

• 12:45-2:15 p.m. Luncheon with keynote address by Harold Westerman, the senior principal for ports and marine terminals at Stantec in Vancouver.

• 7 p.m. Lobster dinner and Cape Breton ceilidh
