Public invited to celebrate Police Week
SYDNEY — Residents of the Cape Breton Regional Municipality wanting insight into how police do their job are encouraged to attend a meet and greet barbecue this weekend.
Officers with the Cape Breton Regional Police will be at the Mayflower Mall on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. as part of Police Week celebrations. Those attending will able to talk with officers about their job and see some of the equipment they use daily to help keep communities safe. Also on hand will be the four-legged members of the police service K-9 unit. There will be face painting and door prizes and kids are invited to participate in a colouring contest for a chance to win a new bicycle.
One winner will be selected in each of three age categories: 5-under, 6-8 and 9-12. The colouring page is available for download on the police service website at www. cbrps.ca or for pick-up at any of the service’s police buildings and CBRM city hall.
All submissions must be received back by 4 p.m., Tuesday, May 22.
