The family of Mildred Parsons wishes to express our deepest appreciation for the tremendous display of support during our recent loss. To all who called, sent cards, had Masses said, messaged, visited, provided food and encouragement, thank you; your kindness was both touching and a true measure of the respect you held for Mill. To those in the teaching community who knew and worked with Mill, your shared insights and the respect in which you held Mill will always be kept closely in our hearts. A sincere thank you to the wonderful staff at Harbourstone Enhanced Care, for your professionalism and ongoing support provided to family members. A special thank you to the staff of Levatte’s Lane, who treated Mill with kindness, always mindful of maintaining her dignity and self-respect. You became a part of our extended family and will be in our thoughts always. To all of the outstanding people who help families struggling with various forms of Dementia or brain degeneration such as Catherine Sheppard from the Alzheimer’s Society, Paula Greer and Dena Harvey Green who have led the Alzheimer’s support group, know that you make a difference that matters to family and friends in need of support at a critical time in their lives. A sincere thank you to Dr. Glen Gracie who has throughout Mill’s illness and before displayed the upmost in professional care and compassion, you will always be in our family’s debt. To Dr. Ann Francis D’Intino and the caring and professional staff at the Palliative Care Unit at the CBRH, your compassion and gentle care brought great comfort to our family, a sincere thank you. To Dr. Jennie Ferguson who never gave up on Mill and for your ongoing interest in exemplary care we can never thank you enough, you are an inspiration to your profession. Friends always surround you when you are in need and Mill had many. Several people stand out, that never lost an opportunity to support and care for Mill. Cathy and Rick MacDonald, Norma and Jerry Travis and Sandra and Stewart Kennedy, your kindness and care have left an indelible mark on each and every one of Mill’s family, we can never thank you enough. Families surround each other in times of distress and one family member, our sister Sharon Yates and Errol Hawco, became the anchor and crutch to lean on, never missing an opportunity to care for and to help Mill. You made it possible to keep going during Mill’s illness. Thank you is simply not enough. To Fr. Evert MacDow who visited weekly and administered the sacrament’s without fail, always ready to provide support, thank you, dear friend. To Fr. Evo Diperrio who from the time he came to St. Joseph’s initiated contact, visited and kept Mill’s spiritual state in constant view, thank you for your caring, understanding and spiritual support. To all who thought about, cared for and prayed for Mill, thank you, we feed on your strength. May God bless you, each and every one.
