With heavy hearts we, the family, regret to announce the passing of Mary Hurley on June 16, 2018 at home with her husband Willie at her side. Born August 28, 1933 she was the daughter of the late Hughie and Mary (Gillis) Hurley. Mary was a homemaker, looking after her children, whom she loved dearly, was a member of the New Waterford Pensioners Club. Like any true “New Waterforde­r”, in her early years, she loved her Bingo.

Mary is survived by her loving husband of 68 years, Willie; her loving children, Judy (Tony) Brenna, Davey, William ‘Wee Wee’, Hugh ‘Boo’ (Susan), Carolyn (Mike) Viva, Steven (Miss Betty), Ray (Pam), Valerie (John) Campbell, all of New Waterford, Ann Louise (Darryl) Diebolt, Kitchener, ON and Robbie (Sheri), New Waterford; sisters, Irene MacDonald and Joan Connell; sister-in-law, Annie; brother-in-law, Wilfred Hurley; 20 grandchild­ren, 36 greatgrand­children and 5 great-great grandchild­ren; several nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give special thanks to the Police, Paramedics, Dr. Lowry and staff of the Dialysis Unit, Cape Breton Regional Hospital, who took such good care of Mom for the past ten years.

Visitation will take place Wednesday, June 20 from 5-9 p.m. and a chapel service will be held Thursday, June 21 at 11 a.m. with Deacon Leo Penny officiatin­g. Internment in Mount Carmel Cemetery followed by a luncheon at the parish hall, Convent Street and all are welcome.
