Popular children’s group famous around the world

Popular children’s group coming to Glace Bay.

They’ve outdrawn Pink and Bruce Springstee­n, are internatio­nally recognized TV and recording stars and are known by 95 per cent of Australian­s and on Sept. 27, The Wiggles will be performing at the Savoy Theatre.

Tickets to the Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle! Tour will go on sale on Monday at 9 a.m. Tickets will be $45 with groups of eight or more receiving a reduction of $3 off per ticket. Showtime is 6:30 for the Sept. 27 show. The following day, the world-renowned children’s band will be performing in Halifax at Halifax Exhibition Centre.

The Wiggles are considered the world’s most successful children’s entertainm­ent group. Although based in Australia, over the past year they have toured Australia, New Zealand, England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Canada.

In Perth, Australia, they performed five sold-out shows, setting a record for the most tickets sold by any artist at the venue including such performers as Pink and Bruce Springstee­n.

In a recent survey, 95 per cent of Australian­s said they were aware of the group and little wonder. They have been around since 1991 and their shows have appeared in more than 190 countries worldwide.

The group’s present lineup includes Anthony Field (Blue Wiggle – 1991 to present); Lachlan Gillespie (Purple Wiggle – 2013 to present); Simon Pryce (Red Wiggle – 2013 to present) and Emma Watkins (Yellow Wiggle – 2013 to present).

In Canada, the “Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle” TV show premiered in September 2017.
