Morales’ HR beats Angels

Kendrys Morales connected for a pinch-hit homer in the 10th inning, sending the Toronto Blue Jays to a 7-6 victory over the Los Angeles Angels on Sunday.

Morales hit a two-out drive to right off Hansel Robles for his eighth homer. Robles (2-3) was making his Angels debut after he was claimed off waivers from the New York Mets.

Curtis Granderson, Aledmys Diaz and Devon Travis also homered for Toronto, which split the four-game series after dropping the first two. Diaz had two hits and scored three t imes.

Sale struck out 13 over seven dazzling innings, Mitch Moreland hit a two-run homer and the Boston Red Sox won the weekend and season series over the Seattle Mariners with a 5-0 victory on Sunday afternoon.

“You try to find a good rhythm and tempo, find a groove and keep it going,” the 6-foot-6 lefty said after posting his first scoreless outing since going six shutout innings in his first start of the season.

ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. Rookie Jake Bauers led off the 12th inning with a home run, finishing off Tampa Bay’s threegame sweep.

The Yankees also lost catcher Gary Sanchez when he appeared to injure his groin trying to beat out a double-play grounder in the 10th.
