Former Barenaked Ladies member Steven Page will headline this week’s Granville Green concert.

Page will appear Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Granville Green stage overlooking the Strait of Canso on Granville Street.

He is a founding member of Barenaked Ladies with whom he toured the globe and sold millions of albums. He left the band in 2009 to pursue a solo career.

In March, Page and the Barenaked Ladies were inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at this year’s Juno Awards. Page is currently involved with a diverse array of solo projects. He has composed six Stratford Festival scores, collaborated and toured with Toronto’s Art of Time ensemble, is a member of the Trans-Canada Highwaymen and has journeyed across North America as host of TV’s “The Illegal Eater” — all while continuing to write, release and perform his original music.

He is currently working on a Stratford-commissioned musical he’s writing with Governor General’s Award-winner Daniel MacIvor, who is originally from Sydney.

Page will release a new album, “Discipline: Heal Thyself PT.

2,” later this year with tours planned in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. and Ireland.

John Hines will open the July 8 concert.

Exxon Mobil is the proud presenter of the opening acts, and this year’s openers are all from Atlantic Canada.

This is the 24th year for the free outdoor concert series held at the Granville Green band shell in Port Hawkesbury.

As in prior years, the concerts are free and those attending are encouraged to bring a chair or blanket for seating comfort. In case of inclement weather, the Port Hawkesbury Civic Centre will be used as the backup venue. The series is presented by NuStar and Bear Head LNG with other community sponsors.
